Peter T. Foley, ATTORNEY

Peter T. Foley is an experienced New Hampshire attorney based in Concord, who, for the past 30 plus years, has been providing strategic legal counsel, skilled advocacy, and practical solutions to individuals, businesses, and public entities. As the founder of Foley Law Office, he is committed to efficiently and empathetically helping clients to resolve disputes and navigate complex legal matters.

Pete’s practice includes a strong focus on litigation and dispute resolution.  He works closely with clients to address sensitive property, governance, and public records issues, offering clear guidance and effective representation to protect their interests.

In addition, his practice encompasses administrative and government law, mediation services and sports law. He has represented a wide range of clients, including the New Hampshire Retirement System, the New Hampshire Department of Education, and the New Hampshire Department of Justice, as well as student-athletes facing eligibility challenges.

Before establishing his private practice in 1991, Pete served for a decade in the New Hampshire Office of the Attorney General, including as Senior Assistant Attorney General. In that role, he oversaw all Civil Bureau litigation, managing complex state and federal litigation, and also advised state agencies on statutory interpretation, rulemaking, and contract matters. In so doing, Pete represented the State in New Hampshire Superior Court, U.S. District Court and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.

Pete has also enjoyed being an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Hampshire School of Law since 1992, where he has developed and taught a variety of sports law courses using real-world case studies to explore contract, labor, antitrust, and intellectual property principles.

He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor of the American Criminal Law Review. He received his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from Stonehill College.
